Playtime as Gospel

Who and what did you imagine you were when you were a child?

I spent hours as a Vet, feeding my stuffed animals fluorescent zinc sunscreen as medicine. I was a writer & business person, setting up a “desk” (coffee table) and all the stereotypical accoutrements and scribbling away on perforated printer paper before I even knew how to put the alphabet to page. I also played a police detective, taking cases from the public and investigating in order to help folks reach their resolutions. And finally (at least for the purpose of brevity), I was just about every animal under the sun: a vixen with a soap-operatic life I'd play out with friends, a cat that I *became* for several weeks, and the list goes on.. and on.

What we imagined ourselves as has roots and ties to what we're supposed to be living as a soul. Children are typically more closely connected to spirit than our societies usually give them credit for. They were in non-physical form much more recently than adults, and it shows. They know to follow their excitement and their imagination to practice who they are here to be. We all had our preferred games and alter-egos and there's so many clues about who we are at our core scattered around our playscape.

What mine showed me were all confirmations from my past self & inner child that I'm on the right path as I continue evolving my business and what I offer the world. I'm a healer, an existential detective, a writer, and connected deeply with spirit; my guides in the form of the animals of Earth as well as many more.

So - who did you imagine yourself to be?
